With a speaker line-up that comprises some of the best minds in the business, both globally and in India, the Mumbai leg of the 13th edition of the exchange4media Conclave, presented by NewsX and powered by ZEE, will delve into the shifting media mindset and the growth path ahead.
The Conclave is being held in Mumbai on November 25, 2013. Arnab Goswami, media veteran and Editor-in-Chief and News anchor of Times Now is the keynote speaker at the event. Goswami anchors the well-known live debate programme called ‘The Newshour,’ which is a discussion with eminent panelists on the hottest news topics.
Goswami began his career in TV news broadcast with NDTV 24x7 in 2005, where he anchored daily newscasts, and reporting for ‘News Tonight’ a programme telecast on DD Metro. Later as the News Editor, he was part of NDTV’s core team during the transition from programme producer to the 24-hour mode in 1998. He hosted the ‘Newshour’ show every weeknight. ‘Newshour’ was the longest running news analysis shown on any channel, from 1998 to 2003. As a Senior Editor with NDTV 24x7, he was responsible for the overall editorial content of the channel. He hosted one of the channel’s top rated news analysis show ‘Newsnight’, which won an award for the Best News Anchor of Asia 2004 in the 2004 Asian Television Awards.
The 13th annual edition of the exchange4media conclave will highlight the evolution of media and a willingness to change facilitated by support from the government, advertising agencies, marketers and media. However, every stakeholder has a different view and the main challenge is to find a common path for growth in these turbulent times. Leaders from across domains will get together to discuss and debate live issues and will throw light on the right way forward.
From humble beginnings as a Bollywood film billboard painter to Chief Creative Officer - India Subcontinent, Leo Burnett – KV Sridhar aka Pops has seen it all and today is widely respected as a creative leader in the Indian ad-world. Sridhar is one of the distinguished panelists at the Mumbai leg of the exchange4media Conclave 2013. According to him, new and interesting channels have opened up to talk to people. The behaviour of consumers on these new channels is different. Hence, there is need for understanding of the new channels that are opening up. For instance, gaming is a huge channel, but nobody has been able to leverage it well.
“In Latin America, all the big brands are using soccer and football in a big way. In India, cricket is a big game, so why can’t we build brands through cricket. Why can’t we communicate emotional messages and not just transactional ones? This is a huge challenge and in this conference, I am hoping people will throw more light on how can we use all these new channels,” Sridhar said.
