In his first ad after becoming a world champion at 18, Indian chess grandmaster Gukesh Dommaraju engages in a battle of wits, trying to checkmate legendary chess master Viswanathan Anand. The ad film for Myntra’s genZ sub-brand FWD shows the two legends locked in a game of throwing shade at each other while flexing their own achievements.
The two have a go at each other, bragging about everything from their trophy count to their ages. At one point, Gukesh teaches a thing or two about the gen z lingo to his gen X rival. The film showcases their impeccable comedic timing and the lengths they would go to one-up each other.
