Raj Rishi Singh, Chief Operating Officer – Corporate, Flights, GCC and Marketing at MakeMyTrip, celebrates his birthday, marking another milestone in a career distinguished by its breadth, steady progression and strong commercial impact.

Over more than two decades, Singh has evolved from a frontline sales professional into one of India’s prominent travel and marketing leaders. His journey spans consumer electronics, financial services, beverages and travel technology, giving him an unusually rounded understanding of customers, distribution, brands and business operations.

Singh began his career with Samsung Electronics in 2002 as an Area Sales Manager. During his four-year tenure, he managed a wide distribution network, delivered significant regional revenue and later took charge of the corporate segment for the company’s air-conditioner business. The experience provided an early grounding in execution, channel management and consumer behaviour.

He subsequently joined GE Money, where he was part of its international Commercial Leadership Programme. His assignments covered business development, partnerships, legal-risk policy and new product creation. As Product Manager for Credit Cards, he handled acquisition, activation, usage and marketing for co-branded portfolios—an exposure that strengthened his understanding of data-led customer growth.

A decade-long stint at PepsiCo further expanded his leadership canvas. Singh worked across market development, modern trade, revenue management, regional sales and business leadership. As Director of Marketing for Pepsi, he led the cola brand’s annual marketing strategy and the launch of Pepsi Black in India. He later became Senior Director and Business Head for North, East and Central India, while also overseeing beverage operations in Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan.

Singh joined MakeMyTrip in 2019 as Chief Business Officer. He played a central role in building the company’s corporate-travel and GCC businesses, helping develop myBiz and Quest2Travel while establishing MakeMyTrip’s international presence in the Gulf.

His mandate subsequently widened to include flights and consumer marketing across MakeMyTrip and Goibibo. In his current role, he holds responsibility for P&L, revenue, product and supply in the flights business, leads the corporate-travel vertical and guides the company’s expansion across GCC markets. He also oversees marketing efforts intended to strengthen MakeMyTrip and Goibibo while preserving distinct identities for both brands.

What defines Singh’s career is the ability to combine the imagination of a marketer with the accountability of a business operator. For him, marketing is closely connected with product, distribution, customer experience and measurable growth.
