GMR Rugby Premier League announces HSBC India as ‘Powered By’ partner for Season 1

The inaugural edition of the GMR Rugby Premier League is around the corner, and the tournament has received a massive boost. Organised by Rugby India and GMR Sports, GMR Rugby Premier League Season 1 will have HSBC India as the ‘Powered By’ partner for the opening season. Meanwhile, the tournament’s Title Partner is GMR.

The partnership between HSBC India and GMR Rugby Premier League, the first ever franchise-based Rugby Sevens tournament in the world, further reinforces the commitment towards growing the sport across the globe by reaching newer audiences.

Season 1 of the much-awaited GMR Rugby Premier League kicks off on 15 June, with a final scheduled for 29 June, in Mumbai at the Shahaji Raje Bhosale Sports Complex (Andheri Sports Complex). The tournament will witness 34 matches and welcomes 30 marquee international players from powerhouse Rugby Sevens nations, including New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Fiji, Argentina, Great Britain, Ireland, USA and Spain. Additionally, 18 international players from Canada, Hong Kong, and Germany will enhance the league’s competitive depth, along with 30 Indian players.
