Dainik Jagran launches three magazines
Dainik Jagran Group plans to expand its media empire by launching three Hindi magazines.

The Rs 150 crore Kanpur based Dainik Jagran Group is launching three Hindi magazine in next couple of months. The first, a weekly news & current affairs magazine, Jagran Udaya, is already on the stands. A monthly magazine for women, Jagran Sakhi, is slated for launch in March. The third, a film magazine, Cine Jagran is currently on the drawing board.
The idea behind the launch is to give the brand Jagran an additional platform with an eye of getting more revenue through advertising.
According to Indian Newspaper Society figures, the total advertising revenues accruing to the Hindi press was Rs 182 crore in 1995. In 1999, the figure stood at Rs 608 crore.
Last time Dainik Jagran launched a Hindi magazine was over 20 yeas back. Called Kanchan Prabha, the magazine closed shop after two years. Currently, the Hindi daily boast s of 19 editions in northern India and a circulation of 12.5 lakh.
