Swiggy has expanded its focus on health-conscious consumption with the launch of EatRight, a new umbrella category that now is live across more than 50 cities in India. The initiative brings together food options such as high-protein, low-calorie and no-added-sugar meals under a single discovery experience, aimed at simplifying access to healthier everyday choices for users.

According to the company, EatRight features over 1.8 million dishes sourced from more than two lakh restaurant partners across the country. The category integrates seamlessly into the platform’s existing ordering flow, allowing users to opt for health-focused meals without altering their regular food-ordering behaviour.

The approach is designed to reduce decision fatigue through clearer categorisation while making mindful eating a more natural part of daily consumption.

Insights from Swiggy’s internal order data indicate that demand for healthier food options is accelerating faster in non-metro markets. Tier-2 cities have recorded nearly two times year-on-year growth in healthy food ordering compared to metropolitan centres. Cities such as Chandigarh, Guwahati, Ludhiana and Bhubaneswar have emerged as leading contributors to this trend, highlighting a broader shift in consumer preferences beyond India’s largest urban hubs.

Alongside the category launch, Swiggy noted that its restaurant partners are responding to this growing demand by developing new stock-keeping units aligned with health-conscious eating. The expansion of EatRight reflects the platform’s broader strategy to cater to evolving consumer expectations, as health and nutrition increasingly influence food delivery choices across both metros and emerging cities.
