My three big predictions to mark the digital transformation of 2020:

Indian Gaming influencers will begin their domination

It is safe to say that the next wave of content creators will be gamers. While PewDiePie has rocked the YouTube charts for over half a decade, no Indian gaming content creators have made that mark. I predict that it will change this year. With platforms like Facebook encouraging Gaming Content Creators, the general affinity towards the category and the fatigue with the typical song & dance influencers, there is a definite surge expected in this space.

Twin screen experiences going robust

Second screen experiences will bring people, advertisers and content producers together for a deeper, more interactive, engaging and personalized viewing experience. Twin screen interactivity will give great insights in consumption patterns, generate viewer data and also significantly increase time spent by providing an immersive viewing experience. Content providers will place an increasingly strong focus on higher-quality second screen apps capable of driving engagement. With combined efforts from advertisers and content owners, the second screen will go on to become a full-fledged overall experience. It will also include elements of face-to-face interaction for deeper immersion and direct communication.

Focus on Bharat

With the growing number of active internet users every month in beyond the metros-India, regional content has gained momentum in terms of market penetration deployed through audience engagement and interaction amidst the rise of neo-social apps that allows them to create and consume local content. In the coming years, the space will experience a massive linguistic shift and we will brands, creators and platforms adapting themselves to suit this change. The Hindi-speaking game lover owning a great second screen app is the emperor of 2020.
