Instagram is trying to launch a separate short-form video app for Reels in the US, news agencies have reported.

As per media reports, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri told his team about the plans to launch a separate app.

The app is supposed to be on the lines of TikTok, which is facing a ban in the US.

In January, Instagram unveiled a new video editing app called "Edits," coinciding with service disruptions experienced by TikTok in the US. Mosseri then highlighted that the app aims to offer advanced creative tools for video creators, designed to be used across various platforms.
Last year, Meta launched a new feature that allows advertisers to turn off comments on their ads across Instagram and Facebook. The feature was made available to a limited number of businesses.

The feature, as per the company, was designed to provide brands with enhanced control over interactions with their ads, allowing them to manage the conversation and shield their content from potentially negative feedback.
