The dentsu-e4m Digital Advertising Report 2025 has set the stage for an insightful look at the evolving digital marketing landscape. With industry leaders decoding trends and opportunities, Anita Kotwani, CEO, Media, Dentsu South Asia, shared her perspective on where the industry stands today, where it's headed, and how agencies must adapt to thrive.

At the heart of the conversation was the theme of the ‘Power of Now,’ emphasizing the importance of assessing the industry’s current position before charting a future course. Kotwani explained, “It’s extremely important for us as an industry to understand where we stack up today. Once we evaluate where we stand today, we can look at what the future holds.” She highlighted three critical vectors shaping digital advertising today—moving from attention to propensity, leveraging intelligence to fuel imagination, and evolving consumer journeys that are no longer linear but multidimensional. “When you look at the ‘now’—where you’re working—and see the progress you’re making toward the ‘next,’ that’s when the magic happens.”

The annual report serves as a critical industry benchmark, offering insights into the shifting dynamics of media investments and category growth. Kotwani emphasized its role in helping agencies align their strategies with emerging trends. “Every report that maps industry trends—especially in terms of numbers and categories poised for growth—is invaluable. It gives us a clear perspective on how media spends are evolving, which sectors are set to expand, and how agencies need to reshape their offerings accordingly.”

The Dentsu Digital Advertising Report 2025 projects a CAGR of 7.2% at an overall level, with digital commanding 19% of the total growth. “We have detailed insights in the report, from medium-wise growth patterns to sectoral performance. The overall outlook for the year remains cautiously optimistic,” Kotwani shared, adding that the industry will need to stay agile in the face of evolving market conditions. As digital continues to drive advertising expansion, industry players will need to stay ahead of the curve—embracing data, creativity, and strategic innovation to navigate the evolving ecosystem.
