Nick Wrenn, CNN’s Managing Editor for Europe, Middle East & Africa, has been appointed to the new position of VP, CNN International Digital Services. Wrenn, who will report to Tony Maddox, Executive VP and MD, CNN International, has been with CNN since 2000, joining as a Senior Editor for the international edition of CNN.com. He became Managing Editor for CNN’s operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2003. In that role, Wrenn oversaw CNN’s largest production centre outside the US, which was responsible for more than 10 hours of live programming each day.
Wadhawan Food Retail Pvt Ltd (WFRL) has appointed Ashok Bhasin as Managing Director. In this new leadership role, Bhasin will be fully responsible for designing business plans, strategy, and leading the overall operations across all brands under the WFRL umbrella (including Spinach, Sabka Bazaar, Smart, and Sangam Direct), and also future expansions across all formats. Bhasin had earlier worked with companies like Lakme, Reckitt Benckiser (then Reckitt & Colman), Whirlpool of India and Whirlpool Corporation, USA.
Mohit Hira, Director, Indiatimes.com, has put in his papers after a four-year stint. Hira began his career in advertising as a copy writer with Contract Kolkata in 1986. He was with Contract for nearly 16 years. Hira has also worked with DDB Needham, Muscat. He returned to India in June 1999 to take charge of the Kolkata branch of Contract. In 2001, he moved to Delhi as Branch Head, Contract Delhi. In 2003, he joined Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd, where he worked as Brand Head for Navbharat Times and the Delhi edition of The Economic Times. Thereafter, he moved to indiatimes.

International human rights organisation Breakthrough has launched its third multimedia campaign – ‘Bell Bajao’ – a call to both men and women to put an end to domestic violence. The campaign has been designed by O&M on a pro bono basis. The campaign is supported by the Ministry for Women and Child Development, UNIFEM and the UN Trust Fund.
