A J Christopher, the former National Sales & Marketing Head of Eenadu, has turned entrepreneur and founded Nimbuzz Consultants. With over two decades of experience, Christopher says that the focus of his new venture is business development for organisations across sectors be it tech, FMCG, BFSI, and even media brands. He comments, “Business development has been my core. Understanding consumers and connecting brands by engaging with consumers have been the bedrock on which I have always worked. I am using this expertise of mine to engage brands with consumers. This could be South-based organiations looking for expansion outside their core markets or North and West based brands looking to enter the Southern markets.”

Currently, Nimbuzz Consultants is in the advanced stages of implementing an engagement drive for the instant coffee brand, Bru in Kerala. Christopher says that the focus for the company is to look beyond the big cities and increase brand engagement in the smaller towns. The company is also in advanced talks with brands like Pampers, Kotak and a few other Indian and MNC brands to offer consumer-facing solutions in the southern markets. “Brands just don't need a platform but a credible idea which can help connect & engage with consumers thereby addressing brand objectives. So it's all about connecting audiences. We offer tailor-made digital solutions where we use predictive and behavioral analysis to narrowcast what, when and how a brand should reach out to consumers. We position ourselves as Consumer Evangelists and in fact, a lot of clients are now speaking to us,” says Christopher.

Besides Nimbuzz, Christopher is also designated as the CMO for the Youth Development Consortium (YDC) next project, CIFY 3.0 (Chennai International Youth Festival). In its third year, CIFY 3.0 is billed as being India’s largest youth conclave, and will be held from September 1 – 15, 2019 and targets 90 colleges across Tamil Nadu and 6.2 lakh, students. CIFY 3.0 will see 170 events being conducted across the state under five verticals - Sports, Fashion, Management, Tech and Conferences. Says Christopher, “I am working on scaling up CIFY, putting a brand structure in place, to building the business model and making it self-sufficient financially.” "CIYF is all about identifying talent, nurturing it and help your build their career dreams. This year we expect 50,000 participants. E.g: We have created a platform for start up's to present their ideas to VC's or Angels or Govt Grants or Accelerators all on a single platform which are going to be moderated professionals of the stature of Unicorn Founders. There is more to come in the coming months."
