  • Bajaj Auto Limited reported standalone revenue exceeding Rs 20,000 crore in Q2 FY27, a 34% increase year-on-year, with EBITDA and profit after tax both rising over 35%.
  • The company maintained EBITDA margins at 20.9% despite challenges from input cost inflation and currency volatility, aided by pricing measures and cost control.
  • Domestic sales reached a record high, growing 30% year-on-year, driven by strong performance in both two-wheelers and three-wheelers, with electric vehicle sales nearing 200,000 units.
  • Export revenue grew over 40% year-on-year, with significant contributions from Africa and Latin America, while the commercial vehicle sector also achieved record volumes and revenue.

Bajaj Auto Limited reported standalone revenue of over Rs 20,000 crore in the second quarter of FY27, marking a 34% year-on-year increase. The company also recorded growth of over 35% in both EBITDA and profit after tax (PAT), with the respective figures crossing Rs 4,000 crore and Rs 3,000 crore.

The company has maintained EBITDA margins at 20.9% during the quarter, despite input cost inflation and currency volatility. According to Bajaj Auto, favourable currency realisations, operating leverage and cost control helped offset the partial impact of input cost inflation, which was addressed through pricing measures.

Revenue growth was supported by record vehicle and spare parts sales, alongside higher volumes, pricing actions and a richer sales mix. The company said growth exceeded 20% year-on-year across powertrains, markets and vehicle categories, including two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

Bajaj Auto’s domestic business recorded its highest-ever quarterly revenue, growing 30% year-on-year, driven by both two-wheeler and three-wheeler sales. While internal combustion engine (ICE) models continued to register growth, the electric vehicle portfolio emerged as a key growth driver.

Electric vehicle volumes approached 200,000 units during the quarter, compared with 82,000 units in the corresponding quarter last year. The electric portfolio accounted for approximately one-third of domestic revenue, despite supply constraints.

Exports also recorded a strong performance, with revenue growing by more than 40% year-on-year. Africa’s billing nearly doubled from the year-ago quarter to reach a new high, while Latin America (LATAM) recorded its best-ever sales for a second consecutive period. Commercial vehicles contributed to the export performance, with volumes exceeding 100,000 units.

In the domestic motorcycle business, Bajaj Auto reported double-digit growth in the sports segment, supported by portfolio updates and recent launches. The company noted early traction in its Pulsar range, with sequential market share gains in the sports segment led by the N and NS series.

The KTM and Triumph domestic businesses recorded their highest-ever quarterly revenue, growing 45% year-on-year, with volumes exceeding 40,000 units. KTM benefited from demand for its Adventure and Duke motorcycles, while Triumph continued to gain traction with its modern classics portfolio.

The commercial vehicle business also achieved record quarterly revenue and volumes, with volumes crossing 160,000 units. The electric three-wheeler portfolio remained a key contributor, with the company retaining its position in the L5 electric three-wheeler segment. Volumes and revenue in the category more than doubled year-on-year as Bajaj Auto continued to expand capacity to address demand.

Its Riki electric rickshaw portfolio expanded its presence to approximately 185 cities and maintained its leadership in the L3 lithium-ion electric rickshaw segment.

Meanwhile, the Chetak electric scooter business delivered its highest-ever quarterly performance, with volumes more than doubling year-on-year and outpacing industry growth by two times. Revenue crossed Rs 2,000 crore, while profitability continued to improve. However, supply constraints affected fulfilment as demand outpaced available production, prompting plans to ramp up output for domestic and export markets.
