Week 10 saw 21.83% jump in ad insertions: BARC

There was a 2.1% jump in the number of brands in terms of advertisements as compared to the previous week

There has been a 21.83% spike on insertions of advertisements in Week 10, according to data provided by the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India.

The total number of ad insertions has touched 506508 compared to 415752 insertions in the previous week.

Hindustan Lever continues to lead among the top 10 advertisers this week with 190439 insertions, followed by Reckitt Benckiser (India) at 85397 insertions and ITC at number three with 55660 insertions.

Brooke Bond Lipton India bagged the fourth spot with 35502 insertions, Cadburys India stood at number five with 31622 insertions followed by Procter&Gamble on sixth with 24093 insertions and Colgate Palmolive India on seventh spot with 22404 insertions. Wipro, Lakme Lever and Smithkline Beecham stood eighth, ninth and tenth with 21547, 20323 and 19521 insertions respectively.

On the other hand, in Week 10 there was a 2.1% jump in the number of brands in terms of advertisements, with the total standing at 98868 as compared to 96836 insertions in Week 9.

Among the top 10 brands, continued to lead the category this week with 12713 insertions followed by at the second spot with 11739 insertions and Dettol Toilet Soaps on third with 11666 insertions. is the new name in the brands category which now stands fourth with 10132 insertions.

The other names in the top 10 list include Brands Attica Gold Company (9379 insertions), Dove Hair Fall Rescue (9304) LIC Corporate (9175), Santoor Sandal and Turmeric fell (both 8531), Harpic Bathroom Cleaner (8151) and Lizol (8078) respectively.
