Dentsu Group Inc has announced the sale of its fixed asset, the historic Dentsu Ginza building in Tokyo, as part of a broader move to optimise capital allocation and improve asset efficiency.

In a disclosure dated December 24, 2025, the company said its board has approved the sale and entered into a transfer agreement on the same day.

The transaction is expected to result in a gain of approximately ¥30 billion (over Rs 1,700 crore) in FY2026, subject to completion, which is currently planned for January 30, 2026

Located at Ginza 7-chome in Tokyo, the building was completed in 1933 and has historically housed several advertising organisations, along with the Yoshida Hideo Memorial Foundation and the Dentsu Scholarship Foundation. The property is currently not in use.

Dentsu said the decision to divest the asset was driven by the need to secure funds for appropriate capital allocation, while also reducing costs associated with maintaining an ageing property, including repair, maintenance and fixed asset taxes. The move is aimed at creating a simpler and more sustainable business structure, both operationally and financially.

While the transfer price and book value have not been disclosed due to a confidentiality agreement with the buyer, Dentsu clarified that the transferee is not a related party and has no capital or personnel relationship with the company.

Dentsu said it will reflect the impact of the transaction in its consolidated financial forecast for FY2026, which will be announced alongside its full-year FY2025 results, scheduled for February 2026.
