South African Grammy-winning singer Tyla made her India debut at the Indian Sneaker Festival, performing at Mumbai’s MMRDA Grounds on December 7 before an estimated crowd of 60,000.

Tyla delivered a tightly packed, one-hour performance centered on choreography-driven staging, opening with Truth or Dare, followed by Girl Next Door and Butterflies. Midway through the set, she performed Jump and Bustin, accompanied by her touring dancers. Audience response increased during Chanel and Water, two of her most widely streamed tracks in India. She concluded the show with Push 2 Start, closing the performance on an uptempo section consistent with the event’s festival format.

Her styling for the night quickly became a talking point. Tyla appeared wearing a bindi, with the word “Mumbai” intricately woven into her hair. Images and videos highlighting the hair design circulated across platforms shortly after the performance, becoming one of the earliest visuals to gain traction from the event.

The ‘Mumbai’ Hair Art Clip

Several moments from the concert went viral as fan-shot clips began circulating online. One of the most-shared videos captured the moment when Tyla turned under the stage lights, revealing the “Mumbai” lettering in her hair. A user who posted the clip wrote, “The crowd reacted instantly when they noticed the hair design.” Another widely shared comment read, “This was the frame everyone kept replaying from the show.”

Crowd-Side Viral Cameo

A second viral clip emerged from the audience area. It featured a woman who had previously appeared in a widely circulated airport video. Her presence at the concert led to renewed sharing of the footage. One user captioned it, “Unexpected cameo at the Tyla show.” Another wrote, “The internet recognised her immediately.”

Tyla’s Mumbai appearance marked her first live performance in India. The event generated significant digital activity following the concert, driven by styling details, dance clips and audience-shot videos that continued circulating across platforms through the next day.
