Industry experts say Deepika Padukone’s high brand value is all thanks to her personal and professional choices
Deepika Padukone has become the first actress to be ranked in the top five of the Forbes India Celebrity 100 list. A few months back, the actress also earned the title of 'Most Gorgeous Women in the World' from Bollywood. From L’Oréal Paris to Tanishq, the ‘Padmaavat’ actress has been a beloved face for various brands.
Industry experts say a key reason behind her high brand value is her “clean image”.
According to Tinu Cherian Abraham, PR & Marketing professional, Deepika has consistently and consciously built her personal and professional brand.
"Deepika has a very clear image. She also seems to have deliberately avoided any controversies. Even her brand associations have been mostly aligned with her personality," Cherian said.
Even after 13 years of being active in the industry, Deepika remains a favourite face for brands. While sharing her thoughts on "Brand Deepika", Neha Misri, a social media evangelist and marketing professional, says the actress has brought versatility that hiked the meaningfulness of various brands.
Along with the big labels, her brand is emerging quietly as an active investor in consumer-focused start-ups with the latest investment being in the yogurt brand Epigamia. Misri says Deepika’s idea is to go beyond being just the face of a celebrity.
Asked if Deepika's brand value can fade with time, Azazul Haque, Chief Creative Officer, Mullen Lintas, said that it all depends on her choices.
"She is a thorough professional. These traits make her the top choices for endorsements. So I don’t see any downfall in her brand value until and unless she takes some really bad career or personal decisions," Haque said.
Deepika embodies everything a modern Indian woman should be, he added. "She is an achiever, a professional, extremely down to earth, a loving wife, a caring daughter, an international face, a strong individual and very prudent."
According to Haque, she is one of the best brand endorsers India has ever got. “Deepika has a strong point of view, she is clever, witty and charming. That makes her even more desirable as an individual,” he continued.
On her recent accomplishment, Haque says that becoming the first actress to rank in the top five in ‘Forbes India Celebrity 100’ list, is just another feather in her crown.
Be it movies or brands, Deepika's careergraph has been on a steady rise. Besides movies, a big part of her earnings also come from her brand endorsements.
According to Atul Mohan, a film trade analyst, "I do see a definite hike in her brand value post getting into the top 5 of Forbes. Her marriage with Ranveer makes them the ‘Power Couple’. She has an impressive and envious list of endorsements in her kitty. In short, Brand Deepika is here to stay and rule.”
