Neeraj Pandey has officially joined Zee News, marking a new chapter in his career. He will serve as the Deputy Editor (Political Affairs), focusing primarily on political news and developments.
Neeraj Pandey recently resigned from ABP News, where he had been working since the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. During his tenure at ABP News, Pandey was responsible for covering major political beats, including the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Originally from Prayagraj, Neeraj Pandey has broken several significant political stories over the past six years. Notably, during the recent Delhi elections, he was the first journalist to break the news that Rekha Gupta would become the Chief Minister of Delhi. His interview with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the last Lok Sabha elections created a stir in Maharashtra’s political scene for three days.
Pandey also made headlines during the Haryana elections, when — defying exit poll predictions — he correctly reported through his X (formerly Twitter) account that BJP was making a comeback in the state. His election coverage during the Maharashtra elections proved equally accurate.
During the West Bengal Assembly elections, his interviews with Amit Shah and Suvendu Adhikari gained immense attention. In a notable incident, while covering a live report during an attack on JP Nadda’s convoy, Pandey’s vehicle was vandalized by a mob.
Across his career, Neeraj Pandey has conducted exclusive interviews with major political figures such as Amit Shah, Smriti Irani, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Pushkar Singh Dhami. He was also the first to break news regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill.
Having covered four Lok Sabha elections and nearly 15 state assembly elections, Pandey’s journalistic experience is vast and distinguished.
Before ABP News, he was a founding member and Political Editor at Bharat Samachar, a regional news channel based in Uttar Pradesh, where he worked for two and a half years. Earlier, he worked for around five years at ETV News Network, starting as a reporter and rising quickly to the position of National Bureau Head. He has also spent five years at Hindustan, a leading Hindi daily.
Throughout his journalism career, Neeraj Pandey has worked in cities like Prayagraj, Lucknow, Faridabad, and Delhi.
