Noomi Mehta, Selvel One, to deliver opening address at e4m NEONS OOH Conference
Mehta will be shedding light on the problems the OOH fraternity faces and the possible solutions for the same
On the 10th edition of e4m NEONS OOH Conference, Noomi Mehta, Chairman & MD, Selvel One, will be sharing insights into the state of OOH media in the current scenario.
Mehta will be giving the opening address at the conference.
He will be shedding light on the problems the OOH fraternity face and the possible solutions for the same. Mehta will be also emphasising on the growing OOH share of the pie and the possible contribution to enlarge the pie itself.
Selvel was set up in 1945 in Bombay with three others. Two partners quit fairly early, not seeing much of a future but Rusi Gimi and Soli Nicholson soldiered on to build Selvel.
Rustom Daroga joined in 1967 and later took charge of Selvel North which became a separate company called Selvel Media Pvt Ltd. Mehta joined in 1976 and took charge of Selvel East, known as Selvel Advertising Pvt Ltd. Darius Bahadurji joined in 1981 and later took charge of Vantage, which was a new company floated by the three sons-in-law in the South.
The passing years and growth of the third generation, however, caused a rethink of the future and it was decided that the group should once again be split along family lines.
Daroga and his family took control of Selvel Media in North India and Ahmedabad branch. Mehta and his family took control of Selvel Advertising in East India and Bahadurji and family took control of Vantage Advertising in South India.
The group of Selvel One has further branched into LED displays on the streets of Kolkata, in bus audio, traffic signals, bus advertising and pedestrian walk-over bridges.
Selvel One has entered into the sports category through investment in PMG along with Sam Balsara and Sunil Gavaskar, real estate development with Godrej - ‘OAP’, an OOH specialty marketing company which is the largest independent buying agency in the country.
As regards to the campaigns curated by Selvel, Mehta shared, “We are involved in almost every campaign that breaks in Eastern India and have had the privilege of working exclusively with Coca Cola nationally through a joint venture company – ‘Outsel’ set up for that purpose. We have strongly represented all major brands over the decades and continue to enjoy a special status with all clients we have ever been involved with. But too much of this sounds very boastful so I'll sum up by saying we are amongst the most respected and trusted OOH media owners in the country.”
Mehta will be sharing intriguing points on the trends, challenges and emerging sectors in the OOH industry during his talk.
The NEONS OOH Conference & Awards 2020 is all set to provide a platform for all OOH stakeholders to deliberate upon the new growth avenues and collaborate to make the industry bigger and reach the growth goals.
The conference will be held on March 12 and13, 2020, at Taj Santacruz, Mumbai, which will be followed by an award ceremony where OOH industry leaders will be felicitated.
