Summit Grover has been appointed to oversee Cable, DTH, and Growth in the team of Piyush Goyal, who will lead Distribution at the newly formed Reliance Industries-Disney Star joint venture (RIL-Disney JV).
With an extensive career in the media and broadcasting industry, Grover brings valuable experience to his new role, where he will drive strategic initiatives aimed at expanding the company’s reach and growth in the cable and DTH segments.
In 2008, Grover joined Star India as Vice President of Network Development, marking the beginning of a long and successful tenure with the company. Over the years, Grover’s leadership and expertise in business development and operations earned him several promotions, eventually becoming Executive President in 2018.
During his time at Star India, Grover played a key role in driving growth across multiple platforms, helping expand the network’s footprint in both traditional and digital spaces.
Prior to this, in 2003, Grover joined NDTV as Regional Manager, a role he held until 2005. He then moved to Network18, where he served as Associate Vice President (AVP) from 2005 to 2008.
Grover’s appointment in JioStar marks a significant step in strengthening the JV’s position in India’s competitive media landscape, with a focus on expanding distribution channels and accelerating business growth.
