Australia’s Network Ten is considering outsourcing its news production and advertising sales, according to media reports.

The broadcaster has been facing declining ratings as younger viewers increasingly turn to digital platforms and other sources for news.

Media reports suggest Network Ten is in talks to transfer production of its news bulletins to a rival television network. It is also exploring the possibility of handing over advertising sales across its channels.

The proposed changes have raised concerns over the future of hundreds of employees working across the network's news, current affairs and advertising sales teams, media reports added.
