Hindi GECs witness rise in weekly impressions on back of fresh content: BARC Week 28

As per data for Week 28, while Star Plus is on top for the Urban market, Star Utsav led both Rural and Hindi GEC markets

The Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India’s data for Week 28 released on Thursday shows that Star Utsav continues to lead the overall Hindi GEC market including both Urban and Rural with 1036085 (impressions) followed by Star Plus on the second position with 889801 (000s) impressions and Dangal on the third spot with 878787 (000s) impressions.

Zee Anmol and Sony Pal have bagged the fourth and fifth spots with 750961 (000s) impressions and 679457 (000s) impressions respectively.

In the top five programming list, Dangal’s Ramayan led the list with 10344 (000s) impressions followed by DD National on the second spot with Shri Krishna with 9404 (000s) impressions and Dangal’s Mahima Shanidev Ki with 9381 (000s) impressions on third spot. Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya and Kumkum Bhagya bagged the fourth and fifth spots with 9050 (000s) impressions and 8191 (000s) impressions respectively.

Hindi GEC Urban

On the back of fresh content, Star Plus led the top ten channel list with a spike in impressions. The channel ranked first with 623370 (000s) impressions as compared to 544050 (000s) impressions. Even Sony Sab has seen a rise in viewership and has maintained it's second position with 458758 (000s) impressions followed by Star Utsav on third spot with 382322 (000s) impressions. Colors bagged fourth spot with 318013 (000s) impressions and Zee TV on fifth with 284144 (000s) impressions.

Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya and Kumkum Bhagya bagged the first two slots in the top five programming list with 5509 (000s) impressions and 4942 (000s) impressions respectively. Colors’s Barrister Babu bagged the third spot with 4700 (000s) impressions followed by Star Plus’s Mahabharat on fourth with 4684(000s) impressions and Colors’ Shakti- Astitva Ke Ehsaas ki on fifth spot with 4665 (000s) impressions

Hindi Rural

Star Utsav continued to lead the rural market with 653764 (000s) Impressions followed by Dangal 641192 (000s) Impressions and Zee Anmol on third with 545691 (000s) Impressions.

Colors Rishety has bagged the fourth spot with 463796 (000s) Impressions and Sony Pal on fifth spot with 444233 (000s) Impressions.

In the top five programme list, four slots were booked by shows on Dangal. Ramayan, Mahima Shanidev Ki, Jyoti and Rakt Sambandh have bagged the first four slots with 8170 (000s) impressions, 7239 (000s) impressions, 5319 (000s) impressions and 4892(000s) impressions. The fifth spot was grabbed by DD National’s Shri Krishna with 4888(000s) impressions.
