BARC posts Rs 20 cr as PAT for FY24, down 44%

The Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) has posted a profit after tax of Rs 20 crore for the financial year 2024. This is a decrease of 44%. In the last fiscal, profit stood at Rs 33.57 crore and Rs 85 crore in FY22.
The TV measurement body's revenue has also dipped 0.6% to Rs 319 crore this FY from last fiscal's Rs 323 crore.
In FY23, BARC India saw 60% drop in profit and a marginal increase of 0.41% to Rs 323.28 crore in its revenue.
e4m has recently reported how BARC is gearing up to launch its measurement survey for CTV consumption in India.
As per earlier developments, BARC has ordered over 5,000 metres for the same and was in process of defining premium homes.
The TV rating agency’s revenue from sale of service for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2023 increased by 1.62% to Rs 321.16 crore, against Rs 316.05 crore in the previous fiscal. BARC India’s subscriptions membership fee collection was Rs 0.19 crore in FY23 as compared to Rs 0.31 crore in the previous fiscal.
