Kids broadcasters light up this festive season with special shows

Kids between 2-14 years account for 20 per cent of total TV impressions. This is the highest share across all age cuts, as per Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India. It is no wonder that TV channels do their best to woo this audience band especially around the current festive season as viewership significantly goes up on the back of schools holidays.
Not just GECs but also kids-specific channels try their best to get in the young audience to tune in as long as possible. Here’s a look at few special programmes just for our young viewers:
Cartoon Network and Pogo
Turner International's two kids’ channels, Cartoon Network and Pogo, have planned ‘Dhamakedaar’ festivities with an exciting content line-up for kids this Diwali. To add to the festive spirit, Pogo will premiere the film Bheemayan on November 7 at 10:30 am.
Kids will get to watch popular character Chhota Bheem, as he and his friends bring alive the epic saga of Ramayana through a stage show. To make the most of the holiday mood, kids are in for a treat of non-stop episodes, movies and specials of Chhota Bheem, November 5-11, Monday- Sunday 10 am onwards.
Pogo also giving a chance to its young fans to have an exciting opportunity to win prizes by participating in a contest. Kids can catch Grizzy and the Lemmings along with new episodes of Tik Tak Tail, November 5-11, Monday -Sunday 5 pm onwards.
As part of the celebrations, Cartoon Network also presents brand new episodes of Oggy and the Cockroaches along with Roll No.21 movies 9 am onwards on November 7.
Discovery Communications India’s Discovery Kids is also lighting up the festive season with the launch of new episodes of Little Singham November 7 onwards. Starting with Diwali a special episode titled “Little Singham Ka Diwali Dhamaal” will be centered around Little Singham and Krishna.
The channel will also premiere its second telefeature film of Little Singham titled “Little Singham Chala London” on November 10.
Nickelodeon and Sonic
Viacom 18's Nickelodeon will have a mini television movie titled Shiva v/s the Man from Future, which will be premiered on November 10 at 11:30 am.
Meanwhile on Sonic, a television movie Movie Gattu Battu: Secret of the Computer Chip will be premiered on November 11 at 11:30 am.
Sony Pictures Network India’s kids’ channel, Sony Yay too is not leaving any stone unturned to make this festive season more exciting for kids. Party75 is the entertainment band started on October 15, which is showcasing all new episodes and movies of their shows including KickO and Super Speedo, Guru aur Bhole and Sab Jholmaal Hai until January - giving kids 75 days of non-stop entertainment.
