BARC Week 15: Zee Kannada surpassed Colors Kannada to bag first position in South
In the Broadcast Audience Research Council of India's data for South GEC, Asianet retained the top spot in Malayalam GEC category
The 15th week data of Broadcast Audience Research Council India for South GEC was released. In the across the genre category, Sun TV bagged the third position with 859 million impressions, among Top 10 channels. Star Maa climbed one position up bagging the fourth spot with 771 million impressions. In Kannada GEC category, Zee Kannada surpassed Colors Kannada to bag the first position. Asianet, Star Maa, SUN TV retained their positions in week 15.
Zee Kannada bagged the first spot with 404 million impressions. Colors Kannada came second with 366 million impressions followed by Udaya TV with 221 million impressions. Star Suvarna retained their fourth spot with 156 million impressions. Udaya Movies came fifth with 150 million expressions.
In the Kannada program category Zee Kannada’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs came first with 4 million impressions.
Asianet bagged the first spot in Malayalam GEC category with 267 million impressions. Flowers TV clinched the second spot with 120 million impressions followed by Mazhavil Manorama with 118 million impressions. Surya TV came fourth with 83 million impressions. Kochu TV-kids channel from Sun Network made an entry into the top 5 channel list in week 15 with an impression of 53 Million.
The prime-time serials of Asianet bagged the top 5 positions in the Malayalam program category.
The market leader SUN TV came first with 795 million impressions in Tamil GEC category. Zee Tamil bagged the second spot with 562 million impressions. Star Vijay came third with 497 million impressions followed by KTV with 248 million impressions. Star Sports 1 Tamil bagged the fifth spot with 157 million impressions.
In the program category, Zee Tamil’s prime time serial Sembaruthi bagged the first spot with 10 million impressions followed by Sun TV’s Naayagi with 9 million impressions.
Star Maa came first in Telugu GEC category with 727 million impressions followed by Zee Telugu with 473 million impressions. ETV Telugu bagged the third spot with 471 million impressions followed by Gemini TV with 377 million impressions. Star Maa movies came fifth with 249 million impressions.
Star Maa bagged the top five positions in the program category with channel’s Fun and Frustration bagging the first spot with 11 million impressions.
