McDonald’s India has put its media mandate for the South and West regions up for pitch, sources confirmed to exchange4media. Invites have been sent out to select agencies. According to sources, Publicis and OMD have been invited.

According to media buyers, McDonald’s is a Rs 100 crore club client. The fast-food giant works with separate agencies for different regions—North and East, and South and West—each managed independently.

Currently, Madison handles media duties, including digital, for the South and West, while OMD manages the mandate for the North and East.

On the global front, in December 2021, McDonald’s USA appointed Starcom (part of Publicis Groupe) as its lead national media agency. The move marked an expansion of McDonald’s partnership with Publicis, encompassing national media planning and buying, alongside existing services such as customer data analytics and digital marketing.

Westlife Foodworld, the master franchisee operating McDonald’s outlets in West and South India, recently reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 7.01 crore for the third quarter ending December 31, 2024, marking a sharp 59.34% decline from Rs 17.24 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. Despite the drop in profit, revenue from operations rose 8.91% year-on-year to Rs 653.72 crore, up from Rs 600.26 crore.

When exchange4media reached out to the McDonald’s team, the company declined to comment.
