Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) maintained its advertising and sales promotion expenditure at Rs 687.30 crore in FY25, a marginal rise of 0.45% over Rs 684.21 crore spent in the previous fiscal. The decision to hold steady on marketing investments comes despite a dip in both revenue and profitability during the year.

The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 5,640.21 crore for the year ended March 31, 2025, a 6.93% decline from Rs 6,060.04 crore in FY24. Revenue from operations also slipped marginally to Rs 6,919.29 crore from Rs 6,982.91 crore a year earlier, while other income declined to Rs 87.01 crore from Rs 147.33 crore. As a result, total income for the year stood at Rs 7,006.29 crore, down 1.74% year-on-year.

Despite the subdued performance, Hyundai’s consistent investment in advertising signals a long-term commitment to brand visibility. Holding ad spends close to Rs 690 crore shows the company’s continued focus on consumer engagement amid macroeconomic headwinds.

Commenting on the outlook during the earnings call, Unsoo Kim, MD & CEO of Hyundai Motor India, said the company remains committed to its global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’. “Aiming to become Hyundai’s largest export hub outside South Korea, we aspire to continue our growth trajectory in exports in the coming years,” he noted.

Exports have gained strong momentum in recent months, and the company expects 7-8% growth in export volumes in FY26, supported by demand from emerging markets. “The demand environment in the domestic market continues to be challenging, but we remain optimistic in our strong fundamentals, which enables us to strategically pursue opportunities that can drive both growth and profitability,” Kim added.
