Studio 9 to premiere musical solo play 'My Name is Jaan' on 25th Oct. in Mumbai

TV9 Network supported Studio 9, known for its focus on documentaries, docu-features, docu-dramas, and fiction inspired by real events, is set to unveil a one-of-a-kind musical solo play titled "My Name is Jaan."

The play, based on the life of the renowned 20th-century Indian singer Gauhar Jaan, will premiere on October 25 at the Balgangadhar Tilak Auditorium in Mumbai at 7:30 PM.

The performance will feature celebrated Bengali actress and entrepreneur Arpita Chatterjee, who will not only portray Gauhar Jaan’s life but also perform 11 live songs on stage. Known for her versatility, Chatterjee will seamlessly blend acting with live singing to create an immersive experience for the audience.

"My Name is Jaan" delves into the fascinating life of Gauhar Jaan, one of the first Indian singers to record on a gramophone. The production promises to offer a unique blend of history, culture, and music, adding another creative achievement to Studio 9's portfolio and marking a significant cultural moment for Indian theatre enthusiasts.
