Mohammad Junaid Akhtar has joined TV9 Group. He has joined the digital team at TV9 Bharatvarsh as a senior sub-editor. In this role, he will report to Amit Kumar Rai, executive editor of the TV9 Bharatvarsh digital team.
Junaid Akhtar has nearly 12 years of experience working in media. He began his journalism career in 2013 with Amar Ujala in Ghaziabad, where he worked for approximately one year.
Then, in 2014, he covered the railway, sports, and education beats for the Navodaya Times. About a year later, in 2015, he was transferred from Ghaziabad to Delhi. In Delhi, he covered the Muslim beat and several major protests at Jantar Mantar.
In 2016, Junaid Akhtar moved to Noida. He worked on the crime beat for nearly three years. During the 2020 lockdown, he had the opportunity to cover crime, as well as the three jurisdictions and other beats in Gautam Buddha Nagar.
In 2024, Junaid Akhtar joined the digital team at the Uttar Pradesh Times. During this time, he also worked at the Uttar Pradesh Times' Noida digital site, Tricity Today.
After serving there for some time, he left and joined the digital team at News24. Here, Junaid worked as a sub-editor covering national and international news. After this, he ended his tenure there and has now joined TV9 Bharatvarsh.
