EaseMyTrip Denies Links to Mahadev App After ED Search

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday carried out fresh multi-state raids in connection with the Mahadev online betting app-linked money laundering case, with the premises of EaseMyTrip founder and chairman Nishant Pitti also coming under scrutiny.

According to news agency PTI, the ED’s operation spanned 55 locations across major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jaipur, Chennai, and Sambalpur in Odisha.

Amid reports of the investigation, EaseMyTrip issued a statement on Thursday, firmly denying any direct or indirect association with the Mahadev betting app or any other betting platform. The company confirmed in a regulatory filing that a search was conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, at one of its office premises, and clarified that no seizure was made during the operation.

A spokesperson for EaseMyTrip said, “As per information available in the public domain, the ED conducted searches at over 50 locations of various persons and corporates. Amongst them was one EaseMyTrip premises. While EaseMyTrip has no direct or indirect association with the Mahadev betting app or any other betting platform, we remain fully committed to cooperating with the authorities throughout the course of the investigation.”

The company reiterated its stance through the regulatory filing, assuring stakeholders and customers of its transparency and cooperation with the ongoing inquiry.
