Not all victories are measured in applause. Some arrive quietly — carried by conviction, built on ground action, and powered by the collective voice of a community. At the INMA Global Media Awards 2025, Dainik Jagran-inext proved that when media walks with people, it doesn’t just win hearts — it wins the world’s attention.
From among 839 entries submitted by 286 of the world’s most influential media houses across 49 countries, two campaigns from inext rose to global recognition. Judged by an international panel of 60 senior media leaders, this wasn’t just a win for a media brand — it was a moment of pride for India, and for regional journalism that dares to lead with purpose.
And behind these global honours are two deeply local stories — one rooted in the soil along the Ganges, the other pulsing with energy in city streets — each proving that change begins when media moves beyond reporting to rebuilding.
2nd Place – Best PR / Community Service Campaign:
Choose to Refuse
Plastic pollution in the Ganges isn’t just an environmental issue — it’s a crisis of habit, accountability, and will. Dainik Jagran-inext’s Choose to Refuse was born out of this urgency, aiming not just to highlight the problem but to dismantle it piece by piece.
What started as a campaign quickly turned into a city-wide movement. Over seventy tonnes of plastic waste were cleared from the riverbanks of Kanpur, thanks to a wave of clean-up drives that saw more than a thousand volunteers stand shoulder to shoulder in action. But the momentum didn’t stop there. More than 3,000 schools and 600 colleges stepped forward, pledging to eliminate single-use plastics from their campuses. Inspired by the public response and editorial coverage, multiple government offices followed suit — issuing official circulars and internal bans.
From sting operations exposing illegal plastic sales to forming human chains that symbolised unity against environmental damage, Choose to Refuse proved that a media house can do more than report — it can lead.
3rd Place – Best Use of Event to Build News Brand:
Healthon
While Choose to Refuse rallied people against a crisis, Healthon invited them into a celebration — of movement, vitality, and shared joy. What began as a fitness run soon evolved into one of the most engaging health carnivals the region had ever seen.
With over 30,000 participants across six cities, Healthon created not just footfall but connection. The event brought together people from all walks of life — school children, fitness enthusiasts, senior citizens, and families — running, walking, laughing together in city-wide celebrations of good health. Healthon didn’t just boost visibility — it cemented Dainik Jagran-inext’s image as a brand that’s youthful, community-first, and deeply invested in positive change.
Chetan Sehgal, Head of Brand at Dainik Jagran-inext, encapsulated it with clarity: “We don’t create campaigns for awards. We build ideas for people. These wins tell us that when your message is rooted in the community and delivered with authenticity, the world listens.”
Alok Sanwal, CEO of Dainik Jagran-inext, added: “These wins reflect our unwavering belief in the power of purpose-driven ideas. When a brand stands shoulder to shoulder with its people and acts on what truly matters, recognition follows — not as a goal, but as a by-product of intent and integrity.”
These weren’t just award-winning campaigns — they were moments that mattered. Campaigns that moved beyond marketing and media to spark civic participation, influence policy, and ignite a deep sense of local pride.
Dainik Jagran-inext didn’t just win two global honours — it reminded the world that powerful storytelling, when grounded in purpose and community, doesn’t just make headlines. It makes a difference.
