Arvind Singh Mewar, the 76th custodian of the House of Mewar and a prominent figure in heritage conservation, passed away at the age of 81 in Udaipur, Rajasthan. A direct descendant of one of India’s most storied dynasties, he dedicated his life to preserving the cultural and historical legacy of the Mewar region.

Singh Mewar played a pivotal role in transforming the City Palace in Udaipur into a world-class heritage destination, ensuring the legacy of Maharana Pratap’s lineage remained alive for future generations. As the head of the HRH Group of Hotels, he also spearheaded efforts to merge history with hospitality, managing some of Rajasthan’s most renowned heritage properties.

Beyond his contributions to tourism and conservation, he was regarded as a statesman of culture, advocating for heritage tourism and sustainable conservation practices at national and international forums.
