75% consumers using mobile for exploration: Facebook

Eighty per cent of regional e-commerce sales will be affected by mobile or be through mobile in the next three years, said Sandeep Bhushan, Director, India and South Asia, Facebook.

“Growth is what matters to businesses. Mobile is disrupting consumers, experiences and commerce and it is doing this at a rapid pace. 40 per cent of FMCG will be affected by or be on mobile in the next three years. Already, three fourth consumers are using mobile for exploration. People do not want to watch long form content,” he added.

Facebook. “With over 217 million monthly active users in India, most of whom are active on mobile, Facebook is at the heart of a mobile-first shopping journey. We want to help all marketers and businesses drive revenue growth by tapping into the shift in consumer behaviour towards mobile and help them adopt practises to drive both penetration and loyalty,” said Bhushan.

Mobile is, globally, a key platform for Facebook with roughly 97 per cent of all traffic to Facebook coming from the platform. As per Q2’17 numbers revealed by Facebook, the social media giant has 217 monthly active users with 212 million active on the mobile every month.

Bhushan took over responsibilities from outgoing MD of India and South Asia, Umang Bedi in October.
