Cannes Lions has introduced Holding Company of the Year award, Creative Effectiveness award & The Lion of St Mark this year. The Festival has made some changes to the Agency of the Year award. It has also introduced more for young marketers and young suits at the Festival. And to reflect all changes, the Festival has also got a strapline this year on.

Cannes Lions 2011 got underway on June 19, 2011. And the first of the shortlists – Direct Lions – has been announced. Six entries from India have been shortlisted in Direct Lion category. Mudra Communication has four entries shortlisted, while Grey Worldwide and Contract Advertising have one entry each shortlisted.
Celebrating the centennial of David Ogilvy’s birth, Ogilvy and Mather is launching an annual series of lectures on inspiration at this year’s Cannes Lions. Sir Ken Robinson, author, education reformer and evangelist of ‘Pervasive Creativity’ will be addressing the inaugural seminar.
