WPP has faced a proposed class action lawsuit in the US, alleging that the company misled investors about its financial outlook, client growth, and the performance of its media division, media networks have reported.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, seeks to represent investors who purchased WPP securities between February 27, 2025, and July 8, 2025.

According to the filing, WPP executives made “overwhelmingly positive” statements about the company’s performance and its ability to win and retain clients.

However, the complaint contends that these statements were “materially false and misleading”.

As per media reports, the lawsuit asserts investors bought WPP securities at artificially inflated prices due to the company’s misrepresentations. Plaintiffs seek damages on behalf of all persons and entities that acquired WPP shares during the class period.

WPP has not issued an official statement on the allegations or the lawsuit.
