Priti Murthy, President of WPP Media (formerly GroupM Nexus India), has been appointed to the Executive Committee (ExCo) of WPP Media South Asia as President, Client Solutions. This is part of the company’s global restructuring and transition from GroupM to WPP Media.

The move follows WPP’s announcement to retire the GroupM brand and drive deeper integration across markets with a stronger focus on AI-led solutions.

In her expanded role, Priti Murthy will work closely with Prasanth Kumar (PK), Head of India and Sri Lanka, to steer the agency’s strategy across India and Sri Lanka. She will continue to serve as President of GroupM Nexus India, the performance and media investment arm of WPP, where she leads consolidated operations across digital, search, social, programmatic, affiliate, commerce, and data-driven media.

Alongside Murthy, the ExCo also includes Ajay Gupte, Amin Lakhani, and Navin Khemka, who have been named Presidents, Client Solutions. The newly formed committee is part of a wider structural shift designed to promote collaboration, innovation, and market-focused execution within WPP Media South Asia.

Driving Strategic Evolution at Nexus

Since taking over as President of GroupM Nexus India in November 2021, Priti has overseen the transformation of the unit from a delivery-focused operation to a strategic partner for brands. Under her leadership, Nexus has scaled capabilities to blend performance with purpose—balancing technology with storytelling and regional relevance.

India remains one of WPP’s fastest-growing and most strategically important markets, making Priti’s leadership pivotal to the success of the rebranded media network. Known for her calm and clear approach to transformation, she has led efforts to simplify internal structures, adopt AI-led tools, and build high-performing, agile teams across disciplines.

Track Record of Turnaround and Innovation

Prior to her current role, Priti served as CEO of OMD India from 2017 to 2021, where she helped steer the agency through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her leadership saw OMD retain all regional clients, launch the unifying #ONEOMD campaign, expand digital services, and drive internal culture change during one of the industry’s most volatile periods.

Earlier in her career, as Chief Strategy Officer at Maxus APAC (now part of Wavemaker), she developed the Consumer Truth Framework—a proprietary system for decoding consumer behaviour—and spearheaded initiatives such as India’s first Behavioral Science Lab (Moribus) and the ‘Centre of Knowledge’ platform for internal learning.

A Leadership Style Grounded in People and Purpose

Priti’s approach to leadership is shaped by empathy, clarity, and resilience. She believes in aligning business goals with culture and people, often stating that strong organizations are built through behavioural alignment, not just KPI tracking. She has mentored several High-Potential (HiPo) teams and is known for fostering psychological safety and emotional intelligence within her organisations.
