Following WPP Media South Asia’s recent announcement of its revamped leadership structure, and its formal transition to the unified WPP Media South Asia identity, a closer look at the Executive Committee, particularly the Presidents of Client Solutions, offers deeper insight into the agency’s strategic vision.
These four seasoned professionals are set to drive client-centric growth and innovation as the region’s media landscape continues to evolve rapidly.
Priti Murthy: President, Client Solutions
Priti Murthy is a distinguished leader with over two decades of experience spanning management consulting and advertising, known for her client-first approach and sharp focus on innovation. Prior to this role, she served as President of GroupM Nexus India, where she led the integration of performance, addressable, and activation services as part of GroupM’s global Nexus transformation launched in 2022. Before Nexus, she was CEO of OMD India and spent over 12 years at Maxus (now Wavemaker), where she rose to Chief Strategy Officer. Murthy is deeply committed to mentoring future leaders, particularly women, and is widely recognized for her strategic vision and ability to drive digital acceleration in dynamic markets.
Ajay Gupte: President, Client Solutions
Ajay Gupte brings more than 23 years of rich experience across media, sales, and marketing in diverse markets including India, Africa, and Indonesia. He joined Wavemaker Indonesia as Managing Director in 2011 before moving to India as COO in 2019, and then becoming CEO, South Asia in January 2020. Under his leadership, Wavemaker achieved substantial growth and multiple “Media Agency of the Year” honors. Gupte is known for his strategic embrace of AI and proprietary tools, particularly Wavemaker’s global planning platform Architect, which helps create targeted and personalized advertising solutions. His strong belief in adapting and innovating keeps clients ahead in the rapidly shifting media landscape.
Amin Lakhani: President, Client Solutions
Amin Lakhani is a veteran with more than 25 years in advertising and communications, primarily within Mindshare and GroupM. He was elevated to CEO of Mindshare South Asia in January 2022 after leading Mindshare Fulcrum, where he integrated Unilever’s digital business in India , a move that culminated in a Grand Prix win at Cannes. Lakhani has held senior roles across data, analytics, strategy, and client leadership, and worked with marquee clients like Pepsi, GSK, and HSBC. His contributions to industry bodies such as BARC and AAAI further underline his influence in shaping industry standards and practices.
Navin Khemka: President, Client Solutions
Navin Khemka has over 25 years of experience steering and transforming the Indian media ecosystem, distinguished by his focus on innovation and purpose-led growth. Prior to this role, he served as CEO of EssenceMediacom South Asia, where he led integrated strategies for clients like Airtel, Samsung, Paytm, and PepsiCo. His philosophy of “What’s best for the brand is best for you” exemplifies his approach to turning media investments from cost centers into strategic growth engines. Khemka has also held key positions at agencies like Mudra, Mindshare, and MediaCom, and is celebrated for his ability to blend deep consumer insights with measurable performance outcomes.
