It is with deep sorrow that the Insurance Awareness Committee (IAC-Life) mourns the passing of Piyush Pandey, India's advertising doyen and one of the most influential creative minds of our time.

As IAC’s Senior Advisor, Piyush brought his trademark wit, authenticity, and emotional intelligence to our mission of driving life insurance consideration in India, Piyush made people feel the message before understanding it. Under his guidance, creativity became a force multiplier—turning industry communication into cultural conversation.

His philosophy, which we fondly refer to as “The Himalayan Truth”, changed how we spoke about insurance in India: “Life Insurance is like the Himalayas. Undeniable. Objectively important. Everyone knows it's there. But knowing the Himalayas exist doesn't make you grab an ice axe and oxygen tank.”

To teams across IAC and the Life Insurance Council, Piyush was not just an advisor; he was our guru and fondly referred to as G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time). His energy was exuberant, his mind razor-sharp, yet his approach disarmingly human. He handled every stakeholder—regulator, CEO, creative partner or agency intern—with humor, humility, and heart. His lightning-fast WhatsApp replies, his laughter in sudden WA Group calls, and his conviction that “real work must move real people” will echo in every campaign that bears his imprint.

Kamlesh Rao, Chairperson of IAC-Life, shared, “Piyush gave Indian advertising its Indian voice—and gave Life insurance communication its human heart. His legacy for us will be less in the words he wrote and more in the belief he instilled: that ideas can protect as much as they can inspire.”

His contributions to the ‘Sabse Pehle Life Insurance’ movement—a national initiative uniting 24 life insurers under IAC—will remain an enduring salute to his purpose-driven creativity.

Piyush Pandey will be remembered not only as an advertising legend but as a teacher who helped a category/ sector find its voice. His work was timeless—his impact, irreversible.
