Germany’s Blue Lion Mobile launches ‘Qeep’ mobile social networking software in India
Cologne-based Blue Lion Mobile GmbH has announced the official launch of its flagship product ‘Qeep’ in India. ‘Qeep’ is a social networking software developed on Java for mobile phones and can be downloaded for free and installed on mobile phones. Equator Communications is handling the promotion for ‘Qeep’ in India.

Cologne, Germany-based Blue Lion Mobile GmbH has announced the official launch of its flagship product ‘Qeep’ in India. ‘Qeep’ is a social networking software developed on Java for mobile phones and can be downloaded for free and installed on mobile phones. Equator Communications is handling the promotion for ‘Qeep’ in India.
‘Qeepers’ can send invites to friends or just ‘nudge’ them or send a QMS (Qeep Messaging Service). Private messaging, photo-blogging, live multi-player gaming and sound attacks are some of the features offered by Qeep.
In a press note released by Blue Lion, Mobile GmbH, the two founders and developers of Qeep, Cornelius Rost and Christian Schulte, said, “We are very happy to officially start our services in India. Already, India contributes 20 per cent of the 300,000 members on Qeep. We are confident that in the next three months, the percentage will rise significantly. The whole essence of Qeep is to build a global community of like-minded people who can be in touch 24x7. It’s an international community that has no barriers and borders. Currently, there are people from 160 countries and over 3,000 people joining everyday worldwide.”
Commenting on the promotional activities, Rajiv Shankar, Managing Partner, Equator Communications, said, “The promotional activities would include online banner advertising and mobile SMS campaigns, listings on all websites and web portals that offer mobile content downloads and viral marketing by users sending out invites to join the community. A mobile campaign through Nokia.mobi, Splash and Google Mobile would also be instituted. Qeep also has a tie-up with the Indian advertising network mkhoj.com.”
Speaking on competition, Kaushik Kumar Bhowmick of Equator Communications said, “Qeep is youth-centric and would give tough competition to ibibo.com and Bigadda.com. Qeep is totally free and there are no charges for activation and usage. The only charges that come into effect are the data transfer costs charged by the mobile service provider depending on the rate plan opted by the user.
