DDB Mudra bags creative and digital duties of TikTok

Chinese video-sharing social network TikTok, which debuted in India in late 2017, has awarded its creative and digital duties to DDB Mudra, highly-placed sources have shared with exchange4media.
According to industry estimates, the account size has been pegged around Rs 2.5-3 crore.

The account was awarded after a multi-agency pitch.

exchange4media reached out TikTok and DDB Mudra but e-mails to both the companies remained unanswered until the time of filing this article.

Furthermore, TikTok recently also concluded its search for a global media partner, appointing PHD as its Global Agency of Record to manage media planning and buying duties across all channels in international markets outside China.

According to Sensor Tower, TikTok scored 188 million downloads as Facebook lagged behind in the second place. This is despite TikTok being banned in India’s Google Play Store and App Store for 20 days after being accused of spreading ‘malicious content’. The app has now bounced back from the ban that was lifted in April.
