How does it feel to be recognized as one of the top 30 under 30 professionals in the PR and Communications industry, and what does this achievement mean to you?
In 2021, I was awarded as the ‘PR Person of the Year,’ a milestone that marked a significant step in my journey. Now, three years later, being recognized as one among the PR and Corporate Communication 30 Under 30 fills me with immense pride and gratitude for the progress I’ve made. These achievements reinforce the belief that our profession offers endless opportunities to explore, grow, and become change makers.
This recognition motivates me to push boundaries, do innovative and impactful work that inspires others. I’m excited to embrace the ever-evolving PR dynamics and set out to achieve even bigger goals in the future.
What new trends and innovations would you expect to see in the PR and Communications industry in the next 5 years, and how do you plan to adapt and evolve to stay ahead?
In the ever-evolving PR landscape, adaptability remains the foundation of success. Today, PR extends beyond building goodwill—it’s about strategically managing and enhancing reputation. Clients and consumers are looking for impact, and with the rapid pace of technological advancements, we are on the brink of another digital transformation.
The next wave of PR evolution will require a deeper dive into AI, advanced research, and delivering measurable outcomes. Current trends like videos, podcasts, and influencer marketing will further enhance the way brands connect with their audiences.
As a professional navigating the traditional and modern communication world, unlearning and upskilling will be my guiding principles. Staying flexible yet proactive will not only ensure my relevance but also differentiate me in the competitive environment.
As a rising star in the industry, what skills or areas do you identify as crucial for your continued growth and success, and how do you plan to develop them?
Consistency in learning and upskilling has been the foundation of my professional journey. My capabilities in research, strategic thinking, ideation, campaign planning, and digital skills have increased over the years, thanks to my investment in continuous learning.
With an intent to further build on quality client servicing, the next year will be largely focussed on skillset improvement in AI, analytics, and social impact - critical aspects that significantly influence client businesses today. My upskilling goals for the next year include advanced training in Google Analytics, digital marketing tools and techniques, ChatGPT and AI applications, and a deeper understanding of ESG principles.
What impact do you hope to make in the PR and Communications industry in the industry 5-10 years from now?
In the next five years, I would like to be recognized as a sector expert, defining the future path for Public Relations in India. These years will be the prime years of my professional journey as I challenge myself and set ambitious goals. These achievements will not only be cherished by me but the communication industry at large, as together we will lead in to a more reformed and informed era.
Through incremental thinking, continued learning, and establishing a culture of ethical communication, I hope to inspire purpose-driven communication, thus contributing constructively to the field of communication.
