Shashi Sinha has stepped down as Strategic Advisor at Omnicom Media India, concluding his tenure with the organisation.

Shashi Sinha has had a long and distinguished career in the Indian media industry and has contributed to the development of media planning and buying across the market.

During his time as Strategic Advisor, Sinha has brought extensive industry experience and perspective to the business, supporting clients and teams while contributing to the successful integration of the two organisations and their continued development.

Reflecting on Sinha’s departure, Tony Harradine, CEO, Omnicom Media APAC, said: “Shashi has made a significant contribution to Omnicom Media India and to the broader media industry over many years. His experience and perspective have been valued during his time as Strategic Advisor, and we appreciate the role he has played in supporting our people, clients and the integration of our businesses. On behalf of everyone at Omnicom Media, I would like to thank Shashi for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.”
A trailblazer in every sense, Sinha’s career spans nearly four decades of redefining how media is planned, bought, and measured in India. From launching India’s first specialized media agency, Lodestar, to pioneering data and research-led planning when such concepts were still nascent, Sinha has consistently been ahead of the curve.

His vision institutionalized media planning as a discipline in India—laying the groundwork for what has now become a multi-billion dollar vertical in its own right.

As CEO of IPG Mediabrands India since it entered the India market in 2012 until its merger with Omnicom in 2025, Sinha scaled the group into one of the country’s most formidable media networks, managing high-value mandates across verticals and steering the media strategy for India’s top most brands.

Known for his long-term thinking and firm belief in institutional systems, Sinha has been a trusted industry statesman. He has previously led bodies like BARC, The Ad Club and ABC. His ability to balance network priorities with the larger interests of the ecosystem has earned him rare credibility across clients, agencies, publishers, and platforms.

In 2024, Sinha’s contribution was acknowledged with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the e4m Media Ace Awards.

Sinha holds an engineering degree from IIT Kanpur and an MBA from IIM Bangalore. His educational background in technology and management has complemented his career in media, helping him navigate the industry’s transition from traditional media buying practices to data-driven and AI-enabled approaches.
