Mahesh Samat, Global Head of Publishing and Branded Retail at The Walt Disney Company, has announced his decision to move on from the organisation. He shared the update through a LinkedIn post, marking the end of a long and diverse professional journey spanning multiple industries.

In his message, Samat reflected on completing 40 years in the corporate world, with experience across FMCG, healthcare, media, and entertainment. He described his time at Disney as a wonderful final chapter and noted that his career included building brands, launching businesses, and learning through both successes and setbacks.

Samat emphasised that beyond titles and achievements, it was the people who made his journey meaningful. He expressed gratitude to mentors, colleagues, and teams who supported him along the way, calling the experience an “unforgettable ride” as he looks ahead to the next phase of his life.

"After 40 years, I’m calling it a day. Four decades across FMCG, healthcare, media and entertainment (with a wonderful final chapter at Disney!) have flown by faster than I ever imagined. I’ve been lucky to build brands, launch businesses, and occasionally stumble into things that actually worked. But the titles and milestones aren’t what I’ll remember. It’s the people, the mentors who took a chance on me, the teams who made the hard days fun, and the friends I’m lucky to carry with me into whatever comes next. Thank you for an unforgettable ride", his LinkedIn post read.
