Harsh Sheth has quit JioStar and is likely to join SonyLIV as its Chief Content Officer, e4m has learned from sources.

Sheth was serving as the Business Head of Star Bharat and Star Utsav, a role he took on in November 2024. His exit marks another senior-level movement in the broadcast and OTT content leadership space.

Sheth was earlier Business Head of English and Hindi Movies at Disney Star and Disney+ Hotstar from July 2023. In that role, he oversaw content strategy and business operations across the movie portfolio on both television and digital platforms.

Sheth has had a long association with Disney Star, spanning over a decade. He joined the network in 2014 as Assistant Vice President, Hindi Movies Business. A year later, he was elevated to Vice President and subsequently Senior Vice President in the same vertical.

In October 2020, he was promoted to Executive Director – Hindi and English Movie Business, a position he held for nearly three years, steering the movie cluster across linear and digital ecosystems.

Prior to his tenure at Disney Star, Seth spent over two years with Times Network. He joined as Chief Manager – Strategy for Movies Now and later moved to the role of Associate Business Head at Romedy Now, where he was involved in programming, strategy, and business planning.

His earlier experience includes a first stint with Star India between 2007 and 2011. During this period, he worked across content and programming strategy, with his last role being Manager – Content Engine & Programming Strategy at Channel [V]. He has also worked with TAM Media Research Pvt Ltd, gaining early exposure to media analytics and audience measurement.

Seth’s move to Sony comes at a time when the platform is sharpening its content strategy amid intensifying competition in the OTT space, with a renewed focus on originals, movies and differentiated programming.

Neither JioStar nor SonyLIV has made an official announcement at the time of filing this report.
