Kanika has resigned from Cheil X, people familiar with the matter told e4m, marking another senior-level leadership change at the agency.
Sources confirmed that Kanika, who had recently taken charge as Head of Cheil X's Delhi office, has resigned from her position. Her next move could not be immediately ascertained.
Her departure comes just months after Cheil X announced an internal leadership reshuffle that elevated her from the role of Vice President to Head of its Delhi operations. At the time, the agency had said the appointment was aimed at strengthening its leadership across key markets as it expanded its integrated marketing capabilities in India.
In her expanded role, Kanika was tasked with leading the Delhi office and driving business growth across the region. She had also spoken about Cheil X's positioning as an integrated, technology-led marketing agency capable of delivering brand strategy, creative, commerce, customer experience and performance marketing under one roof.
Commenting on her appointment earlier this year, Kanika had said that Cheil X's integrated approach enabled brands to solve increasingly complex business challenges in a rapidly evolving marketplace.
Her exit comes at a time when advertising agencies are witnessing heightened leadership movement amid intensified competition for talent, growing demand for integrated marketing solutions, and increasing investments in digital transformation.
Cheil X, part of the Cheil SWA Group, has been strengthening its India operations through a series of leadership appointments and capability expansions across creative, digital, commerce and experience-led marketing.
The reasons behind Kanika's resignation were not immediately known. Cheil X had not officially announced her departure until the time of publication. Kanika also did not respond to requests for comment.
Cheil has declined to comment on the development.
