Prashant Shetty, Executive Vice President – Ad Sales at JioStar, has decided to move on from the company, according to people familiar with the matter.

Shetty, who has been with the broadcaster for nearly six years, has been a key member of the network's advertising sales leadership team, overseeing strategic client relationships and revenue growth across marquee properties.

His exit comes at a time when JioStar is consolidating its advertising business following the merger of Reliance Industries-backed Viacom18 and Disney Star India.

Before taking over as Executive Vice President at JioStar, Shetty held several leadership positions across India's television and media industry. He joined Star India in 2015 as Vice President for the Hindi General Entertainment Cluster (West Region), where he led sales, pricing strategy and new business development.

Following Sony Pictures Networks India's acquisition of the Hindi music channels Sony Mix and Rox HD, he moved to Sony in 2017 as Senior Vice President – Sales, overseeing monetisation for the network's music portfolio.

Earlier in his career, Shetty served as Assistant Vice President and West Region Head at NDTV, where he led advertising sales for the broadcaster's English news business and election properties. He also headed national revenue at Sakal Media Group, driving integrated multimedia solutions and intellectual property-led advertising initiatives.

A media industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, Shetty began his career in client servicing at Angel Broking before moving into media sales with Tata Infomedia. He subsequently held leadership roles at Star India across multiple stints and also served as Sales Head for Big 92.7 FM at Adlabs Films.

During his tenure, Shetty played a significant role in monetising some of Indian television's biggest entertainment and sports properties, working closely with advertisers, agencies and brand marketers across sectors.
