ICICI Bank re-appoints Sandeep Bakhshi as MD & CEO

The ICICI Bank’s Board has approved the re-appointment of Sandeep Bakhshi as Managing Director and CEO for an additional two-year term, effective from 4 October 2026 to 3 October 2028. His current term concludes on 3 October 2026, according to the regulatory filings.
Additionally, Ajay Kumar Gupta’s tenure as Executive Director has also been extended for two years, from 27 November 2026 to 26 November 2028, after his current term ends on 26 November 2026.
Bakhshi has been leading ICICI Bank as MD and CEO since 15 October 2018. Before assuming this role, he was a Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer. With over three decades at the ICICI Group, he has held important positions across ICICI Limited, ICICI Lombard General Insurance, ICICI Bank, and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance.
