Ameya Velankar has joined Ixigo as Group Senior Vice President – Marketing. Velankar joins the company after nearly five years as at Uber, most recently as Head of Marketing India & South Asia.
In a post on LinkedIn, Velankar expressed his excitement about the new role, highlighting the lessons learned at Uber. “Uber was a masterclass in building bold, culture-defining marketing at scale. It taught me that the best brands don't just communicate — they move people,” he wrote. He added that he aims to bring the same focus on consumer obsession, creativity, and strategic agility to Ixigo.
Velankar also said, “Ixigo is rewriting the story of travel in India with its customer obsession— making it more accessible, more intuitive, and more exciting for the next billion users. The scale of this ambition is exactly the kind of challenge I am excited about.”
With over 15 years of experience across marketing, sales, and operations, Velankar has worked with leading organisations including SC Johnson, Marico Limited, and RPG Enterprises.
