Equinox Films, along with Ram Madhvani Films and Equinox Virtual, has announced a leadership realignment aimed at strengthening its structure as the group scales its presence across advertising, long-form content, and technology-led storytelling.
As part of the shift, Amita Madhvani, Co-Founder, has assumed the additional role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). She will now drive growth and business strategy across all three companies, with a focus on expanding into new formats and strengthening long-term partnerships. Ram Madhvani continues as Founder and Chairman, retaining creative leadership and strategic oversight.
Speaking on the alignment, Ram Madhvani said, “The most important thing for us is reinvention. This allows us to stay open to new technologies and forms of storytelling with depth and meaning while remaining firmly rooted in our culture. For me, it’s important to have a vision and pass it on, whether it’s in films, series, advertising, VR, AI and newer forms of storytelling yet to come. With Amita, Manoj, Khvafar, and the full team, we continue to inspire and motivate each other with a shared value system.”
Amita Madhvani added, “Stepping into this role at a time when storytelling is being reshaped by technology is both exciting and challenging. The focus ahead is on expanding our creative universe, from redefining how advertising films are made to building AI-led characters and immersive VR experiences. As we scale, the opportunity is to create work that feels new, relevant and ambitious, while building businesses that are equipped for the future.”
Within Equinox Films, Manoj Shroff, Business Head and Executive Producer, will continue to lead the advertising division, with an emphasis on efficiency, scale, and the integration of new production technologies. At Equinox Virtual, Khvafar Vakharia, Business Head and Creative Executive Producer, will spearhead growth across immersive, AI-driven, and experimental storytelling projects.
The move comes after a year of diverse output across advertising, branded content, and immersive storytelling. Ram Madhvani’s creative legacy remains notable for spanning formats, as he remains the only director to have received a National Award for Neerja, two Cannes Lions for advertising, and an International Emmy nomination for Aarya.
Recent work includes the release of The Waking of a Nation, a series recognised for its socially resonant themes. Equinox Films has delivered campaigns for brands such as Airtel, Hilton, Nykaa featuring Deepika Padukone, Aldo with Vedang Raina and Rasha Thadani, and Nestlé Milkmaid.
On the technology front, Equinox Virtual has expanded its portfolio with an AI-VR mythological initiative inspired by the Bhagavad Gita, alongside the launch of its original AI musical IP, Mohini – Khud Se Pyaar.
Operating from a shared creative base while pursuing distinct mandates, the three companies continue to collaborate closely, signalling an intent to combine scale with innovation in the next phase of storytelling.
