Kevin Vaz, CEO – Entertainment, JioStar, has offered a personal tribute to CVL Srinivas ahead of his retirement, highlighting his enduring influence on India’s media and advertising landscape. Srinivas, WPP India’s Country Manager and a towering figure in the industry, will retire on 31 March 2026.
Srini has been one of the most influential leaders in the Indian advertising and media industry. His leadership is anchored in collaboration, integrity, and a deep belief in the power of people.
What I have most admired is his ability to pair strategic sharpness with genuine empathy. He led through trust — empowering teams, welcoming diverse perspectives, and creating space for true collaboration. That kind of leadership doesn’t just deliver results; it builds institutions.
Under his stewardship, WPP India became more than a network. It became a collective with purpose, deeply client-centric, seamlessly collaborative, and grounded in values even as the business evolved.
As Srini steps into his next chapter, his legacy is already clear in the leaders he shaped, the culture he built, and the standards he set for our industry.
Wishing him the very best for what lies ahead. His impact will endure.
Widely respected for his leadership of the WPP group of companies in India, Srini will be stepping down from the group role he assumed in October 2017. CVL Srinivas, fondly known as Srini within the industry, has spent 36 years in the advertising and media sector and is recognised for his integrity and commitment to mentoring talent.
Under his leadership, WPP India has strengthened its position as the clear market leader in the Indian advertising industry. During his tenure, a GCC for the WPP Group was also established in India.
