Sushma Rajesh to lead JioStar's Kannada business

Sushma Rajesh has been appointed to oversee the Kannada business across platforms of JioStar. Following the establishment of a joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited, Viacom18 Media, and The Walt Disney Company, her hiring is a component of the leadership reorganisation.
Up till now, Rajesh was associated with Viacom18 Media as their Cluster Head for Kannada and Marathi since December 2023.
Prior to this, she was SVP & Business Head- Kannada at The Walt Disney Company for over 2 years during October 2021 to December 2023.
Previously, she has worked in leadership roles at Star India since 2004 where she handled Star Plus, Star Pravah, Star Jalsha and Star Utsav. She began her career as a Senior Manager (Research and Strategic Planning) in 2004 and over the years became the Vice President of Marketing and Channel Strategy at Life OK in 2014. Before this, she worked as a Research Executive for IMRB International, a division of the Kantar Group.
She is an experienced Head Of Strategy with a demonstrated history of working in the broadcast media industry and is a strong business development professional skilled in Consumer Behavior, Customer Insight, Market Research, Broadcasting, and Brand Management.
